Cold pressed oil that still remembers the seed
Refined oil is a 30-year experiment. Marachekku oil — wood pressed at room temperature — is what Indian kitchens used before petroleum solvents and ‘clear’ sunflower took the shelf. Choose a pack below; Add to cart drops it into your GheeStore.in basket.

What marachekku oil is
Marachekku ennai is Tamil for oil from a wooden press. Seeds — groundnut, sesame, coconut, safflower, mustard — are crushed at room temperature. Nutrients, live enzymes and antioxidants stay. The oil is only filtered, never refined, bleached or deodorised. GheeStore uses high-quality seeds and premium palm jaggery in the mill, not chemicals.
Why not refined?
Refining became popular for price and for a pale, odourless look. Some plants still use petroleum-derived solvents. Families did not need those oils for thousands of years. A good chekku oil tastes of the seed, cooks cleanly, and does not ask you to take a pill afterwards.
